Preschools Out For Summer

Jack & Ashton
(Jack is also the middle of three boys in his family).

Ashton had his last day of preschool on Wednesday, then an all school picnic in the park on Friday to celebrate. This was Ashton's second of what will be three years of preschool. He went 2 days last year, and 4 days this year and next. It's a quick 2 hrs. & 45 min. about the same amount of time Kevin was in kindergarten each day.

He had a great year in the Sunshine class with 3-4yr. olds. Ashton is one of the youngest kids, he wont be 4 until June 19th. They sent home a folder with work he had done throughout the year and we could really see the improvement from the beginning of the year to the end. He is writing his name really well now, which he wasn't doing at all at the start of the year. The only problem is his 'S' is usually sideways :) He can name all letters of the alphabet by site except for about 5 of them. He can count to 19, knows all shapes and colors and likes to read by memory.

Teacher Marissa & Tasha

This year Ashton did reports on the grizzly bear and the rain forest. They also grew butterflies and plants, cooked and tasted many different foods. Once a month they went across the street to sing to the 'Grandma & Grandpas', rode a city bus, toured a Mexican restaurant, played at the Children's Museum, saw a children's play, sang in a concert, learned about dog safety, met a police officer, and more I can't even remember :)

Ashton is so social. Noticeably more then his older brother. He loves being with other kids and made lots of friends at school...and our neighborhood! You may remember Anya:

She was one of Ashton's favorite friends this year in the Sunshine class. Everyday he would ask "Is it an Anya day today?" You can hardly keep this boy in if he sees any of the neighbor kids outside playing, whether it's Henry who is only 2 or Ethan who is almost 12. The great thing is there are 4 other kids ages 3-5 on our street. Kevin has one more week of school, then our summer will officially begin!

On another note, here is a cute video I took of Jordan (19 months) the other day. He was playing with his trucks and tractors and talking to himself. It was so cute!

I will say it again..Ashton looks like you. It's amazing how boys naturally gravitate to trucks and cars! Talea loves to put on hats and wear her 'high heels' around the house...so silly.
