Second Honeymoon in the Dominican Republic (Part 1)

Jeremy and I celebrated our 10yr. wedding anniversary on June 2nd this year. We were able to celebrate with a wonderfully relaxing vacation just like the one we spent on our honeymoon! Jeremy's parents were gracious enough to watch all three boys while we were away. We knew we wanted to go somewhere warm, near the ocean and where we have never been before. We ended up in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic at the Dreams Palm Beach all-inclusive resort. We stayed 5 nights with an extra night on either end for traveling. It was hard to leave the kids, for me mostly. Jeremy goes out of town a lot for work, so he is kind of used to it. I felt really homesick for them while traveling and our first day. I even had to hold back tears a couple times. But after getting word through email on how/what they were doing I felt much better. We were able to Skype with them on the computer one night which was really great. They seemed to be very happy with Mimi and Papa.

Here is the first group of pictures. I will post more in another post.

From the plane, flying into Punta Cana.

Walking into the main lobby.

Waiting for the concierge to bring us to our room.

Our room was wonderful. We were already in the Preferred Club (separate section of the resort with nicer rooms, free internet, separate pool, beach and restaurant etc.) but were able to upgrade to a suite for a price that was totally worth it!

This tub was so big!

Living room looking from the bedroom. There were french doors that separated the two rooms. We also had two TV's and two bathrooms!

Dining room right next to living room.

Jeremy checking out the ocean. Also a nice shot of his back tattoos in case you have never seen them. (It was so humid there that my camera lens was often fogged up)

This is how we spend pretty much every day. Laying on the beach, reading our books while Jose' brought us drinks :) (In case you are wondering, I'm reading 'Eat Pray Love')

Then every night I got to get all dressed up for a dinner date!

Jeremy modeling the cool fabric on the banquet in the Italian restaurant. Besides the outdoor restaurant and the buffet style cafe, there was a Mexican, Italian, Chinese & French restaurant to choose from. The food was just OK. It was nothing special, they just dressed up some pretty boring stuff. My digestive system is still not back to normal :{

When you step out the main door to our room this is what you see. The private preferred club pool and under the blue light is some entertainment on the beach.

This was the view looking out of our balcony.

This was the view looking out the balcony to the right. We were on the top floor in the corner, so it was a nice quiet room.

The main lobby at night.

Jeremy at the lobby bar getting his drink of choice: scotch.

I have more pictures I will put in another post, including photos of me swimming with a dolphin!
