Today we hit the pumpkin patch. It was a beautiful day for it! We go to the same patch every year and always have a good time. Before I share of our adventures today, I'm going to back up a few days...Last Wednesday Jeremy and I went to McMenamins Edgefield for an overnight getaway. Our first one since before Jordan was born. (In case you have lost track, Jordan just turned 11 months old yesterday!) I'm still nursing, so I brought my breast pump and Jordan had some formula. We had a great time. We played shuffle board, drank beer, ate food, soaked in the soaking pool, watched a movie, ate more food and relaxed. We were eating breakfast the next morning then were planning on heading home when we got the call. Jeremy's parents had all three boys over night and apparently Kevin and Ashton both were vomiting all night! Jeremy was the one getting the bad news on the phone and I could tell something was wrong and couldn't eat my breakfast anymore. You know that turn in your stomach you get as a Mom when you know something is not right with your children? They were sweet enough or better yet, brave enough to deal with this all night and not call us until morning so that our night away would not be ruined. After the call we headed right home to our sick boys. That day they went down for their daily nap at 2pm and they both slept straight through until 3am. 13 hours. We had a little 3am story time. They had a little water and Gatorade, but couldn't keep it down and back to sleep they went.
The boys all better now, but since then poor Mimi Janet (the caretaker of the sick boys) has been sick, along with baby Stuart (nephew), Uncle Dan, Rowan the neighbor boy and Jeremy have all got the rotten bug. I am praying that Jordan and I continue to stay healthy, especially because Jeremy is leaving town bright and early Monday for a couple weeks.
Thursday was the day we came home from our night away and Friday I had tickets to the Women of Faith conference here in Portland. I had bought a ticket for myself and Janet to go, but by then Janet was sick and couldn't go. So I brought my sister Julie along. Looking forward to a night of relaxing worship after taking care of sick kids all day, we were disappointed to have the evening event canceled due to a suspicious plastic pipe taped to a bathroom wall. Back home we went to get ready for a full day of Women of Faith on Saturday (8-5pm). All night Jeremy was not feeling that great and I was worried what the morning would bring. Him not feeling well and having all three boys to take care of all day was worrying me a little. A few hours into the conference I got the word that Jeremy was really sick and Tim and Janet had come to get the boys. That bought me a couple more hours (thank you for that!), but we eventually had to leave around 1:30pm. I was bummed I missed so much for how much money I had paid to go, but it was really hard to focus anyway worrying about sick ones at home. Maybe next year I will be able to try again!
So here we are to today, Sunday. Jeremy not feeling 100% took one for the team and went with us to the pumpkin patch. We didn't stay as long as we usually do, but the boys still had fun. Here are some pic's of our adventure...

My sweet boys. When we got home I had the boys take their coats off so the camera could see their matching shirts and pumpkins..
I had raked up some leaves to put at the base of the pumpkins and they got cut out of the picture by accident because I was more focused on just getting them all to look at me!

Those are so cute. I hope Jeremy is better and you and Jordan don't get it or the boys don't get it again. Love mom
I can't believe so many of your family got that awful bug!! (Guess it wasn't the hot dogs, huh? :-))You are such an insightful mommy to just leave your boys be and let them sleep till they woke up, I would have thought I should wake them so they would go to bed again, good choice on your part! I love the black/gray sweatshirt Jordan is wearing, where'd you get it?
You forgot about me! I got sick too. And whats more I got my best friend Melissa sick who also got Aunt Kathy sick, ha what a virus! It was quite contagious. Good news though I lost 5 pounds!!! Amazing what happens when you don't eat for two days and throw up everything. :)
