It was one year ago today (Nov. 10th) that our baby Jordan came into this world. Into the loving arms of his mom, dad and two brothers...

We are so blessed to have you and you are so blessed to have two amazing big brothers to look after you, teach you, play with you and love you. When I think back to those first months of your life I remember bouncing on the exercise ball until the wee hours of the morning trying to get you to sleep, while watching 'The Hills' on Netflix. I remember carrying you around in the Sleepy wrap so that I could get all my Christmas cards addressed and trying to keep warm on those cold winter nights when I had to get out of my warm bed to feed you.

Look at you now! So handsome, so sweet and so smiley. You are a little squirt which has made it easy for you to crawl, climb and walk. You still like to nurse once or twice between 4-6am and eat lots of finger foods. When your brothers wrestle with Dad you aren't afraid to get right in on the action.
We celebrated Jordan's birthday on Saturday with my immediate family, Jeremy's immediate family and my friend Michelle who I have known for 26 years and has a son only 3 days younger then Jordan. I found a friend of a friend to make the most beautiful cake and my sister and her two kids came by the overnight train and made it just in time for the party!

I got the plates and napkins at Target. Didn't she do a great job at matching the colors of the polka-dots!
Can you see that look on his face? He was very excited about what was in this bag. It was some super soft animal puppets.

Happy Birthday my sweet baby boy!

Today is also my nephew Chants' big day! He turns 11 years old. Out of 5 grandsons, he is the oldest. Happy Birthday buddy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Last, but certainly not least, today is also the United States Marine Corps 234th birthday! So this is a special birthday for Jeremy as well.
Jeremy served 9 years in the USMC reserves in Portland & Eugene. He served 7 months of active duty, 5 of which were in Iraq. He also spend 6 years in the IRR (Inactive Ready Reserve). All before this September being very Honorably discharged from the Marine Corps. We are so proud of him and his brave service to our country and our family. We are thankful he has decided to stay out of harms way for the sake of his young family. Once a Marine always a Marine.
I was reminding the boys today that it was the Marine Corps birthday and that it meant it was a special birthday for Daddy too. Kevin said "I think I want to be a Marine someday." A couple minutes later he said "Can I be something else too? Like a football player?" Thanks to the option of being a reserve, Kevin can grow up to be a football player AND a Marine if he so chooses.
Happy 234th Birthday to my very own Devil Dog!
