They also love "Jump Time!" This was invented this summer when we stayed home a lot because I was pregnant and needed to get the nursery painted and decorated. They got along so well all summer, it was amazing! I think God was doing me a favor because he knew I had a lot to do. So while I painted they were across the hall in their room having "jump time". This consist of throwing everything off your bed, - pillows, blankets & stuffed animals, then jumping on the bed. They each have their own twin bed across the room from eachother. Kevin even invented a scoring system for 'jump time'. Have you noticed that everything is a competition with boys?
There is a possibility that I am the only Mom that lets their kids jump on their beds too, and my bed for that matter. I remember as a child that my parents bed seemed so big and comfy and fun, but it was always off limits. We rarely even sat on it. I always wanted to, so I decided that I would let me kids play on my bed, and have 'jump time' if they wanted. We don't let the kids sleep with us though, not until morning that is, when I need a little snuggle to help me start the day.
All kids need to move, especially boys I think. So if its going to help them get out that energy AND get some exercise, then I will let them run around the house and jump on the couch or the bed (carefully off course so no one gets hurt). Here are some pictures of todays 'jump'

I can't believe how much the boys have grown.....not to mention that you have added one since the last time that we saw you! I told Jay last night, you know the last time we saw Jen & Jeremy she wasn't even pregnant yet with Jordan....it's been awhile, don't you think? lol Anyhow, I got your message the other day and I need to stop over and visit and get Matthew's jacket. I get so busy and forget most of the time. I'm working part-time at the schools. I'm a substitute so I get to be the librarian, a secretary, or help kids with their reading....whatever is open. Connor is in preschool this year and Matthew is in 3rd....and my dad watches Connor when Jay & I are both working, so it works out fine. It's been nice to get back to work for a few hours a day....I don't want to work full-time, but I do like the extra $$ ;o).
We'll be in touch!
Blessings-
Christa
I think it is great you let your kids be kids! So many parents want their kids to be adults by the age of 3 and it's so ridiculous! They are only this age for a short while in the grand scheme of things.
