Thinking Positive...

We went on our only camping trip of the summer a couple weeks ago to Beaver Bay (Yale). We went with Jeremy's parents and his sister's family. We were going to stay two nights, maybe three if things were going well with the baby etc. Well, it rained. A lot. We stayed one night. It was a lot of work for only one night and about two hours of dry warm weather. It wasn't supposed to rain and I was disappointed, but I tried to think positive when it was all over...

Like when I tripped over the grate attached to the fire pit right before going to bed and literally ATE dirt and covered myself in mud...at least I had brought another pair of pajamas!

Or when Jeremy, Jordan and I were sleeping in a tent that had a slow drip right onto Jeremy's chin all night...at least Kevin and Ashton were dry in the small trailer we borrowed from my Dad!

When I realized there was another drip right next to Jordan's bed...at least it wasn't IN Jordan's bed!

Even though it rained hard, constantly, all afternoon and ALL night into the next day...at least we had a couple hours to get settled in the nice dry, warm weather.

When hopes of bike rides and boat rides were getting flushed away with the rain...at least the boys didn't care! They rode their bikes in puddles and went out on the lake in the boat with coats and hats on in the rain.

Even though we only stayed one night...at least we weren't far from home!

Jordan enjoying his lunch before the rain started.

Ashton and Kevin excited about their cocoa krispies. You've got to have fun cereal when you are camping :)

Uncle Dan and Stuart.

The nifty play area we had set up for the babies.

Looks like Stu is trying to tackle Jordan for the leapfrog table!

Jordan having fun in the exersaucer.

When the rain started we covered the baby area to keep it dry. We didn't think the rain would last long. It started out really light. Well, the blanket that was on top of the tarp was so wet we had to wring it out when we packed up.

Jeremy and Jordan keeping dry.

Look at those bottom teeth! His top two are coming in now.

Mimi Janet and her baby boys.

Jeremy and Uncle Dan enjoying the yummy dinner Jeremy made.

Ashton wasn't afraid of the rain.

The rainy boat ride. The boys were so excited about this boat. They were going to ride in it rain or shine!

Ashton having fun going through the puddles on his bike. It was totally dry and dusty when we got there.

The Baker crew trying to keep dry and warm.

This is one buff grandma! She was having too much fun with that ax. She chopped all the wood for the fire.

We made it to the beach last week and it was great weather, so that kind of made up for the rainy camping trip. Will post picture from beach trip soon.

Wow Jen. I check this out nearly daily. My nurse friend Holly showed me this past week how to leave a comment on the blog as I wanted to leave a special message to my favorite foot doctor who is on his second tour, this time in Iraq. His Oregon group has been in place a month with two wounded and two dead--I always offer a prayer that Jeremy returned safely and that he did not go back.

So now I can send my thoughts to you also. You must have gone camping the same time that Keith did. They go to a lake in Washington also. They headed home early that Sunday and drug the boat out to the Columbia River. And he did not have kids to keep warm and dry. Love you all-The Good Witch
