New Beginings, Goodbyes & Prayers

There have been some changes where work in concerned for Jeremy. The company he and his dad worked for were having some financial issues, which lead Jeremy's dad to decide it was time to branch out on his own. So they have started their own company doing the same thing they were doing. The last month has been, stressful and busy all at the same time. Jeremy has since got his Oregon contractors license and they have purchased a bunch of their own supplies and equipment and are already on their first job.

This is where the good byes come in. I am so thankful he has work, but unfortunately the next two jobs are in Arizona. He left on Saturday morning for the very long drive to Wilcox, AZ. and will be there for about 5 weeks. His dad is there too of course and his mom decided to tag along. Jeremy's brother-in-law is also working with them and so his sister tagged along as well. So the whole Baker clan has left the boys and I here. I'm thankful my parents are still around! The girls will be coming back in a couple weeks.

Jeremy has been in industrial construction since college, so I'm used to the out of town work. My dad is in similar work, so he went out of town a lot too. The longest we have been away from each other was 5 months when he went to Iraq with the Marines back in 2003. I had a full time job and no kids then, which made it bearable (well, besides the worry of him getting wounded or worse). I am just thankful that he is not getting sent back and leaving his sweet boys who love him so much and myself for a 12+ month deployment like so many. I don't know how those mothers out there do it. I can't imagine going through that again with children. I am blessed to have some great friends and family who have offered to help make the next 5 or so weeks a little easier. Thank you!

That brings me to the prayers. There is kind of a long list...

Please Pray...

..for Jeremy and the rest of the family's safe travels.

..that the new business will flourish with the least amount of stress possible.

..for my patience with the kids while Jeremy is gone.

..for all of us to stay healthy while he is gone.

..for the strength to not get stressed out or cry, especially around the boys.

..did I mention patience?

..for the ability to make them healthy meals while our "cook" is away.

..for a baby who cooperates when I too need to take a nap or sleep at night.

..for everything on the job to go right so they can come home on time.

..and for Jeremy to not get too homesick for us.

Thank you!

Aw. It didn't dawn on me that you'd be without all the Bakers! I suppose the positives are that you do get more quality time with your fam and your kids, and you'll probably be REALLY happy when they come back. Sending prayers your way - I have faith in you!

I will definitely keep you all in my prayers Jen - 5 weeks is a long time to be away from your husband and the father of your children. Hang in there and I'll be thinking of you!
